Problem Statement

As part of normal business processes, Red Bull captures data used to calculate Key Performance Indicators (KPI’s) for various convenience stores and other distribution end points. The Red Bull KPI System is used to capture this information as a means of gaining insight into key areas of the business.
The legacy KPI Capture Tool was a stand-alone application that was complimented by an Excel summary report application, which uses an exported data file from the KPI tool in order to generate these summary reports. In addition, the Red Bull KPI tool was not integrated with their SAP CRM system. The system relied on periodic data updates with the use of the aforementioned data file. Data in this Excel file was manually manipulated and not time stamped, which presented challenges with respect to data integrity and limited reporting capabilities.
Solution

An integrated web application was developed, which reduced manual KPI calculations. Data entry and updates were time-stamped, which allowed for more robust reporting of KPIs against specific date ranges, trend analysis, increased data integrity, and auditing capabilities. The new system was integrated with the SAP CRM system, which increased real time reporting capabilities.
